How do I keep separate avatars and separate profiles for my two .com blogs?

I have two .com blogs. They are supposed to be separate, but the same gravatar shows for both, and when I change information in one Profile, the other blog changes also. How do I stop this from happening?

When I clicked on the dropdown to indicate the blog that fits the question, the dropdown shows benjaminboobooks as wordpress.com instead of as .com. I set this up from the beginning as .com. The grandawn.com blog shows as .com with (wordpress.com) in parentheses. I changed this to .com after two years. This is all very frustrating.

Gravatars are per account, so you’ll have the same Gravatar across all blogs, but you can set a specific Blog Icon for each via Settings -> General in your blog’s Dashboard.

I already have a different Gravatar for benjaminboobooks.com showing in the Settings area. However, it does not show for benjaminboobooks.com. I paid for two accounts – one for grandawn.com and one for benjaminboobooks.com. I need two separate blogs. I do not want the same Gravatar showing for both. I do not want the same profile information showing for both. I do not want any information (comments, etc.) for one showing on the Dashboard for the other one. I specifically clicked on “Separate blog” instead of “parent:grandawn.com. How do I fix this and separate them?

It’s working correctly. Keep in mind, this is a Blog Icon, not a Gravatar. As a Blog Icon, it will display as the favicon in the URL bar, next to the blog name in the admin bar, and in the WordPress.com Reader.
If you want two separate accounts, you’ll need to open a new WordPress.com account, then transfer the blog following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

I tried to set a new account for benjaminboobooks.com. The system will not let me. It says that address is already taken. I do not want a new address. How do I get this fixed?

Don’t set a new blog, just a new WordPress.com user account without a blog.
You’ll need to log out first, then visit https://en.wordpress.com/signup/
You won’t need to pay again.
