How do I make a sub-page or sub-post?
Here’s what I have in mind:
° I’m creating a list of about 100 bands that are active in my city.
° That list will be included in a “page” that’s accessible from my homepage.
° When a reader clicks on that page, I’d like him to see a simple list of band names, with each name hyperlinked.
° I would like each hyperlink to go to a sub-page or sub-post that includes detailed info on the corresponding bands with photo galleries.Here’s the trick: I would like to create those sub-pages/-posts without having them appear on my homepage. In other words, the only means to access those subpages would be through the list page.
Is this possible? Do I need to upgrade to premium? If so, which themes support this?

Hi Ben,
Sure! You can do this all via a Custom Menu. There you can create subpages and on that page you can link to a specific post/page.
You can set a static Front page by going to Settings > Reading in your Dashboard. If you don’t want a Posts page you can leave that empty.

My theme — Suburbia — supports just one menu. Will Suburbia support more if I upgrade to premium?
Also, a static front page eliminates “posts” altogether and only allows “pages” to appear. I don’t want to eliminate posts; I just want to create a few posts that do not appear on the front page. Everything else should appear on the front page automatically as it has been.
Is there a way to create a “post” without it appearing on the front page?

I’m sorry, but WordPress.com Premium would not be able to do this. Take a look at the link for what’s a part of the Premium upgrade.

No, applying a static front page would not eliminate posts altogether. You can set another page as your Posts page, which is where all your posts can be seen.

Can these be pages instead? You can create pages and just link to them so they don’t appear on your Posts page.
If you publish the page, but don’t add it to your custom menu it won’t be visible unless you link to it, which is what I think you want.
