How do I make WordPress.com know my site address moved?

  • Unknown's avatar

I moved the WordPress site from a subdirectory of my main site to the root directory. Now the WordPress.com site can’t find my blog. I tried changing the web address in my account, but that didn’t do it. I still get an error that the site cannot be found when I click on things.

The urL below should not have the /wordpress after it.

http://www.ifcatholics.net/ is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Note that we do not provide support here at WordPress.COM for any installs of WordPress.ORG software. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Thank you for this, I’ve started an account at ORG.

However, I only opened an account here because I thought it was necessary when I installed the Jetpack plugin and used the site statistics feature. Else I would not have an account here at COM.

Is there a way to delete my account here? And if I did would that stop the statistics?
