How do I map my WordPress-purchased domain to my Squarespace site?

  I would like to map my domain, willbrunelle.com, to my Squarespace site. I already have a forward set up, but I would like to actually dig into the settings so that I can have the address bar display “http://www.willbrunelle.com,” instead of “http://www.will-brunelle.squarespace.com,” as it does now.

  I have tried following instructions from tutorials on both ends, but i found myself lost, as Squarespace has no WordPress-specific notes, and WordPress has no Squarespace-specific notes.

  It seems a great many people besides myself have had this problem, yet all of the threads seem to end with support helping behind the scenes and offering no direct explanation, meaning those who come along later are left with no answers, like me.

  Squarespace’s directions are a little out of order, you should start here:

  Point a Domain to an External IP Address

  You won’t need to do the CNAME record they have listed, you’ll just need to do this last step of linking your Squarespace site to the domain:
