How do I move my blog from a custom domain back to wordpress?

My blog at somekindofwonderland.com is up for renewal next month. I don’t want to continue using this domain for my blog and want to move it back to your free site. I’ve searched support but can’t find information on how to stop the renewal and move it back. Please help! Thanks in advance!

Ooops. Thought I was sending msg. to support and not posting to a forum! Bad day! Anyone know how I can delete these posts?

    Hi there!

You’ve reached the Staff Answers forum, which means that only you and staff members can reply. :)

Your domain is currently set to expire on April 16th and you do not have auto renew set up. If you’d like I can cancel this domain for you completely, this way you won’t get all of the expiration emails leading up to that expiration date.

Let me know what you want to do!

Thank you Shawna! I’d like to cancel it, but if I do, will the content still be available at somekindofwonderland.wordpress.com?

Yep! somekindofwonderland.wordpress.com will continue to exist.

Once you cancel this domain, you will no longer have any ownership of it. Registrars are not required to release cancelled domains to the public for re-registration and someone may purchase the domain on backorder or in auction before it gets released.

If you’re looking to move your domain to another web host, we have ways that you can do that without canceling your domain. Just let me know and I can give you some directions. :)

Just reply back to confirm that you’d like to cancel your domain!
