How do I obtain the IP address of my wordpress website

    Have recently switched to OVH webhosting and domain services, and in order for my website to display properly I need to transfer all the files/information stored on my wordpress site to the new address. In order to do that I need to provide OVH with an IP address of the wordpress site. Where do I find it?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Are you looking to move a domain to another registrar? Or do you want to point a domain elsewhere using A records?

    Once I know more, I can point you in the right direction.

    Hello,

    Have already moved the domain to the new registrar. Want to move the contents of my WordPress site to be hosted by the new registrar as well (which is OVH). To do this OVH require an IP address of my WordPress site, so advised me to obtain it from WordPress.

    It sounds like OVH is expecting you have a self hosted WordPress.org site:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Things work a little differently on WordPress.com. It’s not possible to connect to your site using an IP address. The moving process needs to be started from within your WordPress.com account.
