How do I permanently remove a pdf file from a google search
-
I believe I have deleted the PDF file out of my media and can not find a blog post with the pdf attached to it
The [PDF] is still coming up on the google search, and don’t particularly want people to be able to access the file anymore, do I need to delete my site completely in order for it to disappear from the google search? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It can take up to several weeks before that link doesn’t show up anymore on Google. But if you removed that pdf-file from your media, the link should give an error Not Found.

On the Google Search, you can’t click the link to the URL, it doesn’t take you to the page, but the description under the URL is still showing, which contains the information I don’t want people seeing

Hi there, It can take 4-6 weeks before they recrawl and reindex your site and remove it from their cache. If you need that taken down sooner, you’ll need to follow the procedure for removal at each of the search engines’ support. WordPressdotcom has no control over that.
From Google:
If the content no longer exists on the source web page (removing cached results)
If you have a Google account, and the content is no longer available, you can request that Google remove it from Google Search results, whether or not you control the page. Visit the Remove Outdated Content tool to remove the page.
Hope that helps.
