How do I permanently remove a pdf file link from WordPress?

Hello, I want to delete a file link permanently so it’s not possible to open it even if you got the link. How can I do this? I actually deleted the original media file but it’s still not enough to get it fully deleted. Please, help me with this :)

That pdf gives me a ‘404 — File not found.’ so it has succesfully been deleted. You are probably seeing the version cached by your browser.

Hi! Thanks for the quick response, but now that I’ve actually sent the link to people (who hadn’t opened it before), they are able to open it and see the document, so what could be wrong???
