How do I register an existing domain with WordPress?

    I have a website and domain registered with another host. I want to create a new blog site, using my existing domain name, and have it all registered and housed at WordPress. What steps do I need to take to make this transition?

    My domain and website expire on soon, so I do not want to just map it to WordPress, but actually transfer the registration before it expires, and extend the registration through WordPress.

    WordPress.COM is not equipped to accept incoming domain name transfers – you will need to keep the domain name registered not at WordPress.COM then map the domain name to your blog here –

    Remember to read the terms of service as there are some things you can’t do here that you can do if you are self hosted
