How do I remove all responsiveness from my template?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m using a customized Expound theme on my blog. After changing some widths, the responsiveness of the theme no longer works. When I adjust the size of the container everything just gets jumbled and overlaps. I’ve spoken with support a few times and even set up a Tweaky project to try to find a solution. Tweaky said that my only option is to remove all responsiveness from my template. I’m fine with this, but I don’t know how to do that. Can you help?

    Hi there,

One option is to enable our Mobile Theme for your blog. That way, when someone uses a mobile device, your blog will display a theme specifically designed for smaller screens instead of your customized Expound theme. You can enable the mobile theme under Appearance > Mobile in your dashboard.

If you prefer, another option is to add custom CSS to rewrite and remove the responsive parts of your theme. In other words, anywhere in your theme’s CSS where it changes the layout for smaller screens, you can add custom CSS to make it match the layout on larger screens instead. (That effectively removes the responsiveness.)

That kind of CSS change is a bit beyond what I’m able to help with. You may want to ask Tweaky if they can help you make that kind of change, or you can ask for help with it in our CSS Customization forum:
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

There are expert staff and volunteers in that forum who may be able to help guide you to a solution for this. :) We also have tips for working with CSS here:

    I hope this helps!
