How do I remove the left sidebar of widgets?

I cannot get rid of the left sidebar of widgets from my blog (artistryboston.wordpress.com).
I also cannot figure out how to get the full blog posts to display on the blog homepage. Right now it just shows previews of each post (the first few lines instead of the full text and pictures).The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You currently have a 3-column theme which means the things are referring to are made by design. Feel free to pick a different theme at http://themes.wordpress.com
