How do I remove the slideout menu bar from the Bushwick theme?
-
I really like the Bushwick theme, but I don’t have a use for the slide out menu at the top. Is there a way to remove it?
Also, is there a way to change the color of the theme? I would like to change it from the maroon that is the default.

Hello there,
All blogs wearing the same theme on this multi-user blogging platform are using the same underlying template which we can view on the live demo sites. We bloggers cannot edit the templates underlying our themes and change the way any theme is designed to function. We can purchase an upgrade to do limited CSS editing to change appearance only.See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing: Custom design – Frequently Asked Questions

@jlhinson51, the slide-out on Bushwick is a sidebar area for widgets, but if you are not going to use it, it can be hidden with CSS. Also, the same for the maroon color, but both of these would require the WordPress.com Premium Plan upgrade that @timethief mentions.
