How do I resolve the error "Navigation to the webpage was cancelled".
-
WordPress has changed following the publishing / posting of a blog.
A screen now appears stating “You published your xxx post”, with buttons to “Edit Post” or “Close Sidebar”. To the right of the sidebar a blue information / error screen appears with the message “Navigation to the webpage was cancelled”.

Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

Sorry, no change.
fyi…. am running IE Version 8; also, override automatic cookie handling – set to “prompt”.
-
I’d like to rule-out a browser-specific issue.
Would you please try Chrome or Firefox?
-
-
That’s entirely possible. Are you able to upgrade to IE 9? It’s really a significant improvement over IE 8.
If that doesn’t help, or you can’t upgrade, can you please try disabling all of your add-ons?
-
Unable to upgrade to IE9 as using Windows XP.
Disabled all IE add-ons and published blog. Error message / page still appeared (unchanged). Additional warning “balloon” indicating an attempt to use an “add-on” that is disabled.
-
Well, at least we know it’s specific to IE 8 on your computer. I’m unable to reproduce the issue myself.
Are you running any firewalls or security software? If so, would you mind testing with those temporarily disabled?
