Hi there,
You can move your subscribers from your .com site to your Jetpack self-hosted site through this support guide:
http://jetpack.me/support/subscription-migration-tool/
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
You can also import Twitter followers by setting up Twitter Publicize. Here’s a support guide to set this up:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#twitter
That is the guide for a WordPress.com site, but it should be similar steps for a .org site.
Cheers!

Do you get an error message of any sort? Does anything at all happen? Or is it a “click button and literally nothing happens” type of thing?

That is odd.
No worries though, I can do the migration for you.
Just so we’re both clear, what is the URL of the old WordPress.com site and URL of the new self hosted site?

In checking your site’s Jetpack connection, I noticed that your site’s WordPress installation is still reflecting your host’s IP/user address rather than your domain. You should contact your host and let them know so they can fix it.
It is currently now:
69.89.31.151/~beautjh7/
And it should be:
http://www.beautifulthieves.com
We need to resolve this prior to the subscriber transfer for a number of reasons, mainly because your Jetpack connection won’t work properly and you wouldn’t be able to see your subscribers or send new post notifications to them. It would also impact your site’s shortlinks and any publicized posts as the shared URLs would resolve to the IP address rather than your domain name.
Your host should be able to sort this out for you. Once that’s fixed, I’ll need to make some changes on your settings on our end and will have you do one more thing before we can do the transfer.
Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, I’ll wait to hear back from you!

I suspect that might have been the crux of the subscriber migration tool issue. So could you give it another try:

If it doesn’t work, please let me know and I’ll do it manually. But the tool is a better solution overall, which is why we encourage its use.
