How to activate an inactive sidebar?
-
Yesterday I upgraded to the premium version and I thought I would be able to customise my theme even more and get plugins etc. But I’m finding it hard to see the benefits of paying for the upgrade other than a .com website.
I currently only have one sidebar and would like to activate the inactive ones in my dashboard, can you shed some light on this for me?
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
With WordPress.com Premium, you get the following upgrades:
With that custom design upgrade, you’re welcome to customize your theme with Custom Fonts, Custom Colors, and Custom CSS. However, WordPress.com Premium does not include the option to upload plugins or modify your theme’s PHP files. (Those are features of self-hosted WordPress.org blogs. You can learn more about the differences here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org)
The Fictive theme only includes one sidebar, as shown in the theme demo here: http://fictivedemo.wordpress.com/
There isn’t a way to add more sidebars or widget areas to themes here at WordPress.com, so if you’re looking for a theme with more sidebars you may want to take a look at our theme showcase at other themes we have — you can see our three-column themes here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/three-columns/
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
