how to add a domain to my site

    Hi there. I’m on a free plan and I need to add a Go Daddy domain to it. I think that means I need to upgrade to a paid plan, is that correct? If so, I’m willing to do that, but can’t work out how to do it.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi abceramics,

    That’s correct, custom domains are a feature of paid plans (you can upgrade using that link). There are two options for connecting an existing domain to WordPress.com:

    1. Use domain mapping

    The domain will remain registered with GoDaddy but domain mapping will create a connection to WordPress.com. The domain will need to renewed through GoDaddy each year.

    2. Transfer the domain to WordPress.com

    With this option, the site and domain can be managed from one place. The domain will renew with WordPress.com your plan each year.
