how to add a read more to your blog posts on home page

  Hi I am new to word press, I have read quite a few blogs and a lot seem to display a ‘read more’ link on the homepage, rather than display and entire post… i would like to do this can anybody help??

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
