How to add/edit meta tags

  I like have meta tags in my web site html, Like and . How can I have these?

  Meta tags for a number of services can be added from My Sites > Settings > Traffic:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

  We don’t provide the option to edit theme files so there isn’t a way to add other meta tags using HTML.

  Do you see the service you need to verify there?

  Hi gemmacevans,

  Thanks for your helping.

  When I copied <meta name=”keywords” content=”something” /> into the google box, and click save setting, I got an message, it said the meta tag is invalid.

  Any other way to allow me to add the tag?

  The Verification Services section at My Sites > Settings > Traffic is for site verification, not for meta tags. Meta tags cannot be added at that location.

  From the support page on Search Engines:

  WordPress.com automatically generates an XML sitemap for your website and supports webmaster tools validation through meta tags. Themes on WordPress.com generate the necessary markup on each page.
