How to alter text on first page

  I suppose this question is incredibly stupid, but I can’t figure it out. Several themes come with some “About the Author” text, such as “Add some information about yourself here,” and I can’t figure out how to customize the text. I think I’ve looked everywhere, including the CSS files, and can’t find it. Not under pages, categories, etc. etc.
