How to avoid accidentally triggering site spam detection?

    I had my blog temporarily taken down due to a false positive by wordpress’s automated anti-spam controls. I am not sure how I had triggered this and would like to know how to avoid doing this by accident.

    At the time it had happened, I uploaded a piece of media and edited a previously published blog post and a page to include a download for it.

    What could have caused the spam detection? Doing these edits too fast? Or applying a download link to multiple pages? Please help me understand.

    If you want more information about why your site was flagged, please reply to the email support ticket you already have open with our terms of service team. We cannot help with this in the public forums.

    There is very little chance of your site being flagged again, as it has been explicitly marked as not spam, exactly so that our automated checks will not mark it as spam again.
