How to avoid our new site being blocked as suspicious by Federal servers?

Our primary partner, who works for the National Park Service, cannot view our new blog at work because it is blocked as suspicious. He is working in-house to see about unblocking our URL, but we have hundreds of constituents in other Federal workplaces who we anticipate having similar problems.

Can you help me understand what about our site or URL might be raising red flags? Is it just that it is a new URL and site, that hasn’t yet been recognized by search engines, etc.? Is there anything we can do to address this problem?

  • Hi there, we would really appreciate it if you would have the National Park Service’s IT department get in touch with our security team. We would like to find out why your site is being blocked, and whether there’s a larger issue with other WordPress.com sites, so we can investigate and resolve it. They can use the form here:

…or write to (email visible only to moderators and staff), and we’ll be glad to investigate.

Let me know if there’s anything else we can do.
