How to change font colour

Is there a way to change the colour of the font? Specifically, I am trying to change the colour of the font on my home page ‘Welcome to your new site’ because it’s currently white and unreadable with the background image.

It’s https://kiwiaustralian.wordpress.com, so pretty sure it’s just hosted on wordpress. I’ve never done something like this before and I’ll freely admit I’m a bit confused!

The short answer is that WordPress.com free sites have limited color customization options. You can see more info on Customizer options here:

The longer answer is that WordPress.com Premium, Business & eCommerce plans offer Custom CSS which will allow you to adjust your site colors however you like:
