How to change from Blog to Personal website?

    I seem to have accidentally created a Blog home page and can find no way to edit the content or change the format. I think I want a “Personal” web site. In any case there will be no “posts” on the home page (or anywhere else).

    How do I change to a “Personal” format?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    You can change your website’s front page display settings by following these steps:

    1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.

    2. Navigate to Settings > Reading.

    3. Under the “Your homepage displays” section, select “A static page” option.

    4. Choose a page from the “Homepage” dropdown that you want to set as your homepage.

    5. Save your changes.

    This will set a static page as your homepage, removing the blog posts from the front page.

    Thank you for your reply, but “A static page” doesn’t show as an option for me. Perhaps I’ve gone beyond the point of making that change. The options I see under “Your homepage displays” are “-Default-“, “About”, “Compositions”, and “Contact”. If I delete my “About”, “Compositions”, and “Contact” pages will that static page option appear? Or can I change to a theme that isn’t used for a blog? I’ve tried that but it didn’t seem to help.

    Hi,

    You don’t need to delete any pages.

    On your pages section, I can see that you currently have 3 pages: “About”, “Compositions”, and “Contact”. If none of them is the one that you’d like to set as the homepage, you’ll need to create a new page for the homepage.

    Once you’ve created this new page, it will show up in the dropdown of “Your homepage displays”

    Thank you. That was helpful, but I still had to fumble around. After creating a new page it did show in the dropdown, and I could set it as the Home page. But both the new page and Home showed in the page’s menu. I deleted the original Home entry, renamed my new page to Home, and all is well.
