How can I change the message subject line for those receiving new blog posts via e-mail?
Is it possible to delete the words WordPress from the email subject line? My volunteers are deleting or unsubscribing form the blog because they don’t think it pertains to them.

This seems a little odd for new blog posts via email, which normally indicates that it is coming from your site and with the words “new post” in the subject line. I don’t think I’ve ever received a subscription email that includes the word “WordPress” in it.
Do you maybe mean the email they receive after they first sign up and need to confirm their subscription? If so, while you can’t change the subject line, you can change the message that is sent out to your new subscribers. You can do that in your Dashboard>Settings>Reading>Follower Settings.
