How to Connect my WordPress blog to YouTube associated website

Is there any way to connect my blog that is hosted on WordPress to my YouTube channel as an Associated Website – so that I can have a click through annotation on my video that will bring me straight to my blog hosted on WordPress – I know how to do this when I host a WordPress blog on my own domain but I can’t work out how to do it when my blog is hosted on WordPress itself.

    Can anybody help me please?
    Cheers

Have you thought about asking on YouTube?

    Thanks for your swift reply.

YouTube describes all the methods where you have access to the domain name and/or the root directory where you can upload a verification file using FTP. They have a way of integrating Blogger but They Don’t Mention anything about WordPress. I’ve set up a fully responsive website on WordPress.com. I have an ordinary theme on WordPress.org which I can authenticate to YouTube because I control the domain.

At present the only way I can link to a blog on WordPress.com is to have the link in the description of the video. If there is a way to have a blog on WordPress.com properly linked to YouTube then I can have a direct link inside a notation actually on my video itself.

I was hoping that somebody here might know how to do it.

You don’t have that kind of access on WordPress.com. I’m afraid it sounds like all you will be able to do is post the text, not make a clickable link.

That’s a pity – I’ll have to see if I can start another blog on WordPress.org – I hope that they have son fully responsive themes that are free :-) I’m retired now and need as much free stuff as I can get :-). Thanks for your help.

Then WordPress.org is not going to work for you. They do not offer hosting, they only offer software. You then have to pay for a domain name, and $120 and up per year for hosting. I suggest you put the URL of your site in the first line of your About on the video, and that way it will be clickable.

Thanks for your reply – I’m sorry I didn’t make myself clear. I have a domain and server space and I have a blog from WordPress.org working on it but it has a few problems – I was going to start again with a totally responsive theme but I’m getting a bit old these days and unless I do a thing daily, tend to forget how to do it :-)

I’ve taken the bull by the horns and created a new blog folder under my domain name and I’ve uploaded WordPress with an extra theme. Tomorrow I’ll see if I can remember how to install it and get it going and then make sure I can link it so that I can directly blog for MS word.

This particular domain is already linked to YouTube so I shouldn’t have any troubles with it. Thanks for your help if I get stuck programming or setting up this new blog I’ll come back for help – thanks a lot
    Cheers for now
