How to contact an author who has made false statements

  • Unknown's avatar

I am working with a company that has a problem. A wordpress.com blog that hasn’t been updated in 5 years is exclusively focused on this company, and every post is a poorly written piece of search bait with wrong or outdated info about the company.

This blog has no comment functionality and no author listed. But the posts are showing up on web searches!

Does anyone know how to go about identifying the author or asking wordpress to take it down?

  • Hi there,

Please report that site using this form:

    https://wordpress.com/abuse/

You can select the copyright option.

Thank you. I reviewed the DMCA form and I’m not sure this is a copyright issue. Rather it’s bad information about my client’s products. I would rather follow the advice in one of the steps from your form:

“Contact the blogger directly. Go to the blog post in question and leave a comment with your complaint to see if the matter can be resolved directly between you and the blogger.”

But there’s no way to contact the blogger the way this site is set up! Can you help me identify the blogger or put me in touch?

The blog in question is: https://epoxymanufacturersinusa.wordpress.com/

  • Can you help me identify the blogger or put me in touch?

I’m afraid we can’t do that. If the site doesn’t have comments or a contact form enabled on the site, there’s no way to contact them. We cannot provide you with contact details for that site’s owner under any circumstances.

Which means your only other option would be to pursue legal channels to get the content taken down. If you want to take that route you can see what would be required on our end here:
