How to disable an account when an author leaves the team?
-
We are a team of software engineers. We use WordPress to document both technical and functional designs. Actually, we’ve got two blogs (one internal and another one external), but this is not the key point.
All the team members have an ‘Author’ role to publish posts. But one of the team members is leaving us this week.
I don’t want to delete his account. I guess all he has written may leave unauthored. I’m just wondering if it is possible to disable his account with some status field or a specific role.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Any admin on the site can remove that account as a user on the site, or that user can remove himself as well.
An admin on the site can remove any other user aside from the site owner via My Site ->People. For that user to remove himself, he’ll need to go to the WP-Admin dashboard and click on My Blogs to see the option to leave the site.
Removing the user won’t remove any of the posts they’ve written, and the posts should still be attributed to them, but they won’t have access to the dashboard any more so won’t be able to moderate comments on their existing posts or publish new posts.
