How to display current Date and Time on my free site

Is there a way to display the current date and time on my free website? I have a free site so I cannot use plug-ins and the widgets are limited. I have not had luck with using the short code block either–am I doing something wrong here? Seems like wp shortcodes for displaying the current date and time should be available to everyone–even us free account folks.

We do not offer a way to add the current date and time to your free site, but you can upgrade to our Business Plan and add that feature via a plugin.
