How to display the registered widget area in a single-column child theme?

  • Unknown's avatar

I spend the whole day trying to display an extra column so that I can put sidebars in it. However, I failed to do that even I have actually registered the areas, while the customizer just says that:

Your theme has 2 other widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.

You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.

I am not very good at CSS coding. If anyone can directly give me the specific code to resolve my problem would be very appreciated! By the way, I am using the twenty-nineteen child theme, which has only one column initially.
