How to do a “preview” article?

  I’m doing really long articles, and I would like to “cut” the article so it’ll show only 2 or 3 lines. You can say it’s kind of a “preview” of the article.
  Is there a way to do this? It would look like that or something:

  It’s the “read the rest of this entry” that I’m looking for. How do I do that? Please answer me. And if you can, show me with pictures(I use the french version of wordpress) Thanks!
