how to enter a document to post

I want to create a post on our site, but all I can add is a link. How do I insert an acutual document. I have it in .pdf and Word.

You could always paste the content into the post editor.
Just be sure to use the Paste from Word function to help ensure it’s formatted properly:

You know, I just finally figured this out – amazing how long it takes to learn something basically so simple. It happens to me all the time on the computer.
I was thinking some how I had to add info a different way via .pdf,doc or .jpg. I had read in your info that Word could create format issues, read about something called scribd and was off on all kinds of computer adventures – got into tangles at scribd website – another story. What I did was, at WP suggestion on post page, was to take a template from an earlier similar post from the year before, create a new one, changed the file name and title, and copied and pasted from my new information. Worked well. Have documented so way down the road when I want to do again and can’t remember, voila… Thank you for the suggestion. whew!
WP is not that hard, just that I’m not a computer whiz and have so little time to learn.
