How to exclude About page from top posts widget

I want to display top posts – not pages – in the widget area, but the “top posts and pages” widget insists on listing the ABOUT page in the list (since it has more likes than most posts). I do not want this to happen and would like a way to exclude the ABOUT page, or other pages, from this widget’s display. Thank you!!

    Hi there,

There isn’t a way to exclude pages (either specific pages or all pages) from the Top Posts & Pages Widget. The widget is designed to include all posts and pages on your blog.

However, I’ve passed along your comments to our developers, so they can consider including an option like that in future updates to this widget. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Mm, too bad; the issue of the about page seems obvious: it is like the Bible being on the NY Times best seller list: I might technically be a best seller, but the best seller list is clearly meant to showcase more recent publications. Anyway, thanks for letting me know this so that I don’t go on trying in vain.
Say, how would I know if such a feature was ever added to the widget?
    Thanks,
    D

The widget has two settings, one for showing your most-liked posts & pages (of all time) and one for showing the posts & pages with the most views over the last 48 hours. If you’d like to use the widget to showcase more recent posts, I’d recommend using the “Views” settings instead of the “Likes” setting.

If the developers decide to add a feature excluding pages from the widget, based on your feedback, we’ll do our best to let you know about the change. :)
