How to get page content on left sidebar?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to put my content (pages) on left sidebar – they go across top instead.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok. I got the page content on the left sidebar (except I don’t want to have the heading above them, saying “pages”, and the navigation pages are also still at the top of the page. I don’t want my page listings in two places, just want them on the left sidebar.

    Hi there!

I just visited your site and I’m not seeing navigation pages. Have you recently changed your theme? Do you still need help with this?

You can find more information about setting up your menus here:

    Menus

You can add one of your custom menus to a widget area using the Custom Menu Widget.

Let me know how I can help further!

Also Shawna, on the left sidebar above the navigation pages – it says “pages”, how do I get that off from above them?

    Thank you,

    Rita

The best way to change that is to stop using the Pages widget and instead use the Custom Menu Widget I mentioned before.

You can’t remove the “Pages” title from the Pages Widget.

Yes I still need help. The reason you don’t see any navigation is because I have each page on private. I can undo it temporarily. I have it on private because I haven’t gotten recipes and pages tweaked the way I want them, yet.

I finally got everything on the left sidebar, but it shows up in duplicate up across the top???? Don’t want that.

I tried the custom menu thingy and either didn’t understand it or didn’t like the way it operated (can’t remember). Might look into it more but right now just want to get the basics up and running.

I think the really big thing right now is how do I get the duplicate navigation bar off the top?

    Thank you.

What about the navigation bar at the top? Same deal?

  • Unknown's avatar

You can make the navigation bar across the top empty by creating an empty menu through Appearance > Widgets and setting it as the Primary Menu for your site. This will not affect your sidebar.

Shawna thank you so much for fixing my problem, you are brillant!
