how to get subscribers from people not on wordpress

  I have downloaded the subscribe widget, but it only seems to take people who have wordpress accounts, instead of connecting with other people outside wordpress accounts?

  Hi there,

  Anyone can use that widget to subscribe to your site, regardless of whether or not they have a WordPress.com account. But adding that widget to your site does not automatically cause random people to just visit your site. To get readers from outside of WordPress.com, you need to actively promote your site outside of WordPress.com and make sure you publish new content regularly enough, and of high enough quality, that search engines will give people links to your site when they search for relevant content online.
