(edit this)’. I can afford to loose the tag line. Can anyone help? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t hide those without the paid CSS upgrade.
But:
a) you can display a name or nickname instead of your username: go to Users > My Profile, type name in the “Display name publicly as” box, scroll down and click Save Changes.
b) “edit this” is only visible to you. -
Seems like you can’t edit here, and I have another problem. I am trying to change my user name in my profile, but after making changes nothing happens when I click the update button. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your rapid reply, panaghiotisadam. You answered my first question, but I still have the problem that after making changes in ‘users – my profile’ the update button is dead. Why is that?

Yes, “Update Profile” (sorry, I wrote “Save Changes” with another dashboard screen in mind). But I don’t know why it’s dead in your case.

No worries, I have decided to upgrade, and my questions will be different then. WordPress is brilliant, and I an a 60 year old newbie.
Many thanks for your (nearly) instant help.
