How to I add a viewport META tag to the HEAD section of my HTML?
-
Hi!
I’m using the Chunk theme on my wordpress.com blog:
blog.nitch.cc
If you view it, you’ll see that I have modified the CSS. I wanted it to be more in keeping with responsive web design and to match my main site. After I went to all the trouble, I discovered that there seems to be no way to add a viewport meta tag to the head of my html.
I’ve had a self-hosted wp blog for a while and finally made the move to wp.com. I was disappointed to find that it seems I don’t have full control over my HTML. Hopefully, I’m just being a n00b and there actually is a way to edit my html.
At the moment, I need to add the following META tag to the HEAD of my HTML in order to have the site display properly on iPhone, etc…
<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1″ />
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
j

Unfortunately, that level of customization is a bit beyond what you can do here at WordPress.com.
Have you considered enabling our mobile theme at Appearance -> Mobile in your blog’s Dashboard?

Wow, that is shocking. Okay…
Have you considered enabling our mobile theme at Appearance -> Mobile in your blog’s Dashboard?
AFAIK, the mobile is just a generic theme which isn’t an acceptable option unfortunately.
FWIW – I’m a mobile web developer, so the mobile experience of my website needs to be top notch. If I can’t edit the HTML on wp.com I guess I’ll have to go elsewhere :(
Is it too late to get my money back?

Your bundle included a domain registration.
Unfortunately, we can only refund the domain registration portion within 48 hours.
If you’d like, I can cancel and refund the rest of the bundle for $74.
As for the domain, if we cancel the domain, it can take up to several weeks, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it.
Instead, you can move the domain another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

No prob. I was able to cancel the $99 upgrade, which is all I was worried about. Thanks for your help with this. Cheers! j
