How to know if an account is still active

  Hello, I need to recover a site hosted at wordpress.com: chateau-icla.fr.
  The domain name has been transferred to Gandi but the site no longer appears. “chateau-icla.wordpress.com doesn’t exist“
  I wanted to know if the account is still active because I am not the previous provider who created the site.
