How to redirect my visitors to my new site?

    Hi
    For about 2 weeks now I’ve been using wordpress.com for my blog and was verry happy with it. I was surprised about the number of visitors and decided to move my blog to a hosting provider and installed wordpress.org on it. In this way I can add ads and have more options on using wordpress.

    Now I would like to redirect each visitor of http://virtualgabe.wordpress.com to http://www.gabesvirtualworld.com. Is there a way I can change enter an automatic redirection in the meta code or any other trick? If possible even with a small text telling them that the pages have moved.

    WordPress.com does not offer an automatic redirect. What you can do is strip out all the content and set the blog to a static page that has a message telling people you’ve moved the blog, and link to the new location.
