How to remove date from the perma link?

  Hello, at present when i blog, date becomes part of perma-link and I am not able to delete it. For example: http://vu2ikl.wordpress.com/2012/10/01/best-tablets-in-india-october-2012/
  I don’t want “2012/10/01” in my perma link. It should also be noted that, I can edit the part of permalink following the date..i.e. I can change “best-tablet..” part.

  There are few examples to edit the perma-link. All of them ask to head over to “Settings->Permalink” But in my case, there is no setting named as permalink. I have General, Reading, Writing, Discussion, Polls etc. but not permalink.

  Please tell me how to remove the date from permalink. Thanks.

  Permalinks are not configurable at WordPress.com. The only URLs without the date are the blog URL overall, and static Pages.
