How to remove domain name from wordpress.com and move it to .org

    I accidentally created a wordpress.com account instead of wordpress.org. I’ve now found out how to create a .org account but it says my domain name is still tied to my .com account. If I close my .com account will it delete my domain name so it will be free to use for my .org account? If no, how can I rectify this issue?
