How to Remove Hack Advertisement for WP Database?
-
Hello,
My WordPress database has been hacked with advertisements placed at the top. I have asked my web site hosting service for assistance but they are unable to assist as the oldest backup is February 29 and the hack must have taken place before that.
Here is what they have shared (I hope someone can assist and I would be very grateful). The web site is crimsonmyst.com.
“Hi,
I have checked this in detail and verified that the domain is in active status as you posted. I then checked the database and found out that those advertisements are present in it. The database is likely hacked. When the domain expires, it will not enter any data to the database of the site. I have checked the backup server and tried different database restores but all of them had the same links. Please note that the oldest backup available for the site was created on the 29th of February. I have checked the Softaculous backup of the site but did not find any DB backup configured for it. If you have an older local copy of the site’s DB, please upload it so that I can restore it for you. If you do not have any backups, those links need to be removed manually with the help of a WordPress developer.”
Again I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thank you

Hi there, this sounds like a question for the folks at the ORG forums which you’ll find at https://wordpress.org/support/forums
This support forum you’ve posted to assists users hosted on the WPcom platform.
WPcom (where we are ) and WP are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Best wishes
