How to remove Jetpack-linked self-hosted WordPress blogs by the user?

    Hi,

I was looking around my WordPress.com account for a way to unlink two self-hosted, now non-existent, WordPress blogs from Jetpack (I keep getting downtime alerts on my email) but i couldn’t find anything about it. Not a link to delete them, or disable, etc.

Googling around for a solution to my problem led me to a thread from the Community. It said that if I wanted to have a WP blog deleted or disconnected from Jetpack, I have to do it by posting a new thread. So there you go, that’s why I’m posting.

May I request for the following WordPress blogs to be deleted and/or unlinked from JetPack, then? Here are their URLs:

    – so-stellar .org/xvii/
    – so-stellar .org/paper/

Both of these URLs do not exist anymore because they were backup installations of WP from a sudden brute force attack from my main blog I experienced 2 weeks ago. They’re both self-hosted WordPress blogs.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I removed those two blogs from your account, so you’re all set. :) Please let me know if I can provide any further help.

    Thank you, @rachelmcr! :)

I do have a question: Just in case something like this happens in the future, do I create a new thread everytime or can I just post here (if it won’t auto-close after a period of time) to request for another WP blog removal?

This thread will automatically close after a while. As long as it’s open, you’re welcome to post here for more help with the issue. Otherwise, you can create a new forum thread. :)

Also, if the Jetpack-linked blog is still active, you can unlink it from your WordPress.com account by disconnecting it on the Jetpack page in your dashboard. Once you disconnect it from WordPress.com, it will remove the blog from your account on this end.

Gotcha, @rachelmcr. I’m going to mark this thread as resolved now. If something else comes up, I’ll post here or make a new thread.

Yup, I did disconnect/deactivate(?) Jetpack first from those two WordPress blogs before I proceeded w/ deleting them (removal through Fantastico on my cPanel). That’s why I was wondering why it kept sending me alerts on my email about the site/s being down, when it has been deleted already.

Maybe I should thoroughly check next time. Otherwise, I’ll make a new thread if I’m not able to successfully remove it by myself. Appreciate the help and assistance throughout my WP-related issue. Thanks very much. :)

(Any chance this thread will be deleted when it’s closed, though?)

Sounds good! Do let us know if you need help with this or other issues in the future. I also wanted to mention that you can also contact our Jetpack team directly with this contact form: http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

They’ll be able to help with any problems you’re having with Jetpack, including if it doesn’t disconnect or deactivate properly.

(Any chance this thread will be deleted when it’s closed, though?)

No, threads may not be deleted unless there is a valid security or personal safety concern, as mentioned here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-code-of-conduct?replies=1

We hope that resolved, closed threads are a helpful resource to other users who are searching for answers to similar questions. :)
