How to remove the "wordpress.com" from my blog and use domain name only
-
I am converting my hosted website (from hostmonster.com) to a free wordpress.com blog. I would like to have the blog open with my website address and not “name of site”.wordpress.com so my customers can find me. I do not understand the “mapping an existing domain” section of the wordpress site – too many terms that I don’t understand (I am new to this!), and I am not sure if that information is actually what I need. Thanks for your help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes the Map an existing domain is what you will need to do. It looks worse than it really is – takes maybe 5 minutes if you type slow (like I did) – you will need to move your content etc.
One note you need to read the Terms of Service closely:
Same Rules Apply – The Domain Mapping Upgrade does not enable the permission to use advertising, any kind of prohibited code, or upload additional themes or plugins. With the upgrade, your blog will still be hosted here at WordPress.com, which means that you will not have FTP access to your files and you will still be required abide by our Terms of Service.
You might also need to fix your email if you had (email visible only to moderators and staff) or whatever – that can be done with Google Aps to get a new email account and that is getting easier to do.
