How to set up Google Analytics on my Blog
-
Hello,
I have my blog http://www.carapublica.com and I want to set up Google analytics on it, but I can’t find the right place to paste the tracking code. I tried to follow what Google says but the WordPress menu is different. Google says to go to Appearance / Themes / Editor and paste the code in the header. I cannot access that. Please I need help, the layout of my dashboard is completely different to the one showed on Google Analytics walk-through video.
Thanks,
David.

Hi David, WordPress.com does not currently support Google Analytics tracking. However we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.
You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/Google says to go to Appearance / Themes / Editor and paste the code in the header.
That would apply only for self-hosted WordPress sites, not WordPress.com. If you’d like to know more about the differences, check out this guide.
Just let me know if you need further help.
