How to show the entire last post (not the list of last posts)
-
Hi.
There is the link http://exampleblog.wordpress.com/?random for a random post.I need a link to the latest post (not to the list of my last posts).
Is there one?
Thanks!
Chris

Random means governed by or involving equal chances for each item (post) to be selected. It does not mean link to the first or last past in your blog.

sorry “past” was meant to be “post”
If you wish you can place a Recent posts widget in your sidebar. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/recent-posts-widget/

I checked out your blog and all the posts have “the read more” tag in them. In order to display the full post edit the most recent post and remove “the more tag” and click “Update”.

Thank you for the immediate answere, but:
Is there a link (that I can write to my browser) to show just the latest post?
Maybe there just is nothing like that.

For one Post on your front page
Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Blog pages show at most – set to smaller number or 1

As far as a sort string (that is what ?random is) there is not one for the “latest” post that I know of. I tried several things but none worked. It would have to be something that was defined in the core wordpress files.

@TSP
It would have to be something that was defined in the core wordpress files.
Thanks for confirming that for me. :)
