How to submit and verify a free wp.com to google

  I tried to submit my website to google and I don’t know how to verify it. After the downloading of file given to me from Google succesfully, they told me to upload it on my website, https://johnortty.wordpress.com. The uploading of the file I downloaded is the only problem which hindered me from submitting of my website. I tried to upload it to my media but I didn’t get uploaded successfully .
  Please i need your help.
