How to switch off the feed to Google Reader when updating an old post?

    I have a number of posts and am busy reviewing my blog to decide which ones I want to have as public and which ones I don’t. So I made all the posts private and am making them public again one by one. The problem is that they are reappearing in google reader, so my readers are forced to re-read old posts. Is there any way of switching of the feed to google reader temporarily?
