How to take down Old Website

    I had a friend develop a free wordpress website for me a few months ago and now I can’t get ahold of him to take down the website as I have contacted with a company to create a premium wordpress site for my company. I’m not sure what the login or any of the information is. How do I get my old website removed or taken down so it does not appear on google search any more?

    Only the account that owns that site can take it offline. Even if they created the site for you, they own the site, and we cannot make any changes to the site unless they request it themselves.

    Also note that taking down the website will not remove it from Google search results. The only way to remove the site from search results is to request from Google directly that they remove it, and to do that you’d need to first verify in Google Search Console that you’re the owner of the site, something that only the WordPress.com account that owns the site can do. Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the site to drop in search result ranking on its own.
