how to unable people to register to become authors

  Hello,

  I would like people who are interested by my public blog to be able to register in one way or the other, and then i would accept them or not as the admin.
  Is there any way i could do that?
  I have activated the follow button, and the fact they have to log on to comment, but this is not quite the same.

  Once you decide on who will be an author, you will need to invite them. Here’s info on that:

  Make sure to read all about user roles in general from the top of that same Support doc.
