Html not working?

I’m new to website building and have no previous experience. Ive created a even calender from another website I would like to use on my wordpress page. Once created I copied the code/script and added a html block to wordpress and inserted the code. I press preview on the block and the even calender come up but when i update my page i just get a short web address in its place. What am i doing wrong? I am currently using the free wordpress account while I’m creating the page if this makes any difference as i know plugins are only support on businesses plans

Hi there,
We don’t allow script code embeds on WordPress.com for security reasons – script code can be used to inject malware into a site, and as sites on WordPress.com share their core files, malware on one site can bring down thousands of other sites at the same time.
The only way to embed script code is on our Business Plan – those sites each have their own WordPress installation, so any risk posed by malicious code would only affect the one site.
The only calendar embed option we currently offer for non-Business Plan sites is a Google Calendar embed:
